Default Re: stolen work property

At first thought, the contract puts company property under your supervision and property. If it is stolen because it is left in a vehicle (laptop for instance) then they can hold you responsible for the theft. Take a look at the contract you were provided, it should tell you the specifics of what will happen if it is destroyed, lost, or stolen.
