Property and house hold different names
My Dad's name (and only my dad's name) is on the title to the property that my grandfather's house was built on. Of course, grandpa's house is in his name. Grandpa stated in his Trust that he is leaving his house to my dad's sister. What happens when my grandpa passes away? Will this require going to court? I don't think my dad wants to sign off on the property. My aunt "says" the house will be my dad's, but we don't know what she's really thinking. What happens if neither want to sign off?

You need to have legal counsel review all the documents and see how they actually apply. Frankly the deed or trust or will could have effects you cannot anticipate--especially in the estates area of law.
No one email can really answer that... |
