In 2001 my wife and I purchased our first home with all our life savings in Surrey, BC. A couple of years later we decided it would be a good idea to move to the country. We had a real estate agent help in selling out home. We advised him of our financial difficulties and the need to make enough off the sale to purchase a new home. We bought for it $122000.00 and sold it for exactly the same amount based on his advice that it was the best we could get and he would assist us in finding a home in the country as well. After all was said and done we were practically homeless, lost all of our life savings and were never able to purchase a home again. All this due to the fact the proceeds from the sale was not enough after all the fees were paid.
Question...is it too late to file a complaint with the BC real estate council? Is there a statutory time limit to file complaints? |

There is normally not a limit like there is in court cases.
