Default Neighbor issues: Very tall coconut trees lean over the property line

My neighbor has about 6 very tall coconut trees in his property which lean over the property line into my lot. They are on the backside of his property which is not developed by him, but lean into mine directly over my porch and where I park my cars. I can't even park where I would like to on my property because of the occasional falling coconut, I see them on the ground in the mornings and wouldn't want to be directly under a 10lb coconut when it falls froim over 40ft up. They also hit my tin roof on my porch and dent it. I've talked to him and he is very rude and doesn't care that they hang into my yard. What can I do to get them removed? He won't listen to me and says that since they are planted on his property it is not my problem, even though they have all grown on an angle into my space.

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against him (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered

You may also trim the tree back to the property line.

I'm curious, how high up does the property line go? These trees are very tall now, but hang further and further into my property every year. I still haven't pursued anything with my neighbor yet but am planning on before the year ends as I just put a new tin roof on my back porch and it is already getting dented by falling coconuts, not to mention I still can't park all the way by my back door since coconuts always fall there.

It goes up as far as the tree goes as far as cutting the tree...
