My father who is malaysian indian bought a house from a Malaysia Malay Vendor. Until now, we unable to get consent to transfer the property from the "Land office". For the past 4 years we have been trying to get consent to transfer. Anybody can help to solve this critical problem?????

I wish to inform you that it generally takes 90-120 days to get property registered in the Land Office in Malaysia if the documentation is in order. The first step is the title search. If title is not clear, it could result in delay in registration of Form 14A which pertains to Memorandum of Transfer. You should, therefore, first check the title and if it is clear approach the Land Office for the reasons for delay in registration. A registration fee and search fee also have to be paid.
