Hi, I live in Colorado. A year ago we purchased 146 acres of land. We were aware that there was a pipeline across the land but thought nothing more of it, and nothing was said about it during the closing. We recently received a letter from Kinder Morgan pipeline company wanting us to sign a right of way over to them. They had received a right of way from the previous owner, BUT THEY FAILED TO HAVE IT RECORDED. Now, they want us to sign a right of way over to them for a measley $100.00. What are our rights? Thanks for your time.

You do not have to give it. Get a real estate lawyer to review what you might be able to demand.
Eventually they can get it by court order but it will be a hassle for them. |
