Default new york co-op

If this is true below, can i see the purchase records if it impacts my condo in any way?
I think the board gave wrong info to a prospective buyer of mine???

I am concerned about the lack of reporting of revenues on the annual financials in my co-op. According to the bylaws, I am entitled to inspect the books, documents and accounts of the corporation.

Would this include a list of the shareholders, with unit numbers, date of purchase, whether purchased from the co-op or a shareholder? Would information about past-due maintenance charges be considered private information? Also, am I entitled to see a list of the rental units and the rents being charged?

The attorney general's regulations provide that every shareholder is entitled to an annual audited financial statement prepared by an independent certified public accountant.

In addition, he said, under the state's Business Corporation Law, a shareholder has the right to examine the minutes of shareholders' meetings and the list of the names of shareholders (unless the requesting shareholder is seeking the information for personal gain, preparing a mailing list to sell, for example).

Mr. Saft said that most co-ops permit access to the minutes of board meetings and many allow a shareholder with a legitimate request to see the corporation's financial records. But private information like sellers' names, dates of purchase, past-due maintenance and the rents being charged would probably not be made available.

You would have to allege wrongdoing and show how it harmed you and in that case a court would likely require them to release the info you seek
