Owner of house I share is moving out of the country for two years. She wishes to give me power of attorney so I can handle matters with the house (neighbor disputes, etc) until she returns. Can this be done without an attorney? Can we sign and notarize a document to indicate power of attorney?

There are legal form books at Staples and Office Depot etc., and on this site, and many people do POA's without a lawyer.
