Confused Name Removal from Deed

I am recently married - State of Indiana. My husband, while in a previous relationship, added his ex-girlfriend onto the house via Quit Claim Deed with rights to survivorship in the event anything happened to him, his family could not remove her from the house she was living in with him. She resided in the home approx 1 1/2 years when they broke up and she moved. She refuses to remove her name from the house unless he pays a large sum of money. Can anything be done legally to remove her name from the property?
