Default Foreclosure on house

my husband has been divorced for a while now. In the divorce his ex got the house. He quit claim deeded it to her and he also had to file bankruptcy because she bled him dry. she is now defaulting on her two mortgages and the bank called and sent 2 letters to my husband saying he is responsible for this. he told them he in fact is not and explained about the bankruptcy and the quit claim deed and they have stopped calling. I went on the Ct judicial we site the other day and there in black and white is the court listing for the foreclosue and they listed his name on the website. Is there any way he can be held responsible? He has not lived in the house or paid bills, in the divorce decree it sates she is responsible for everything. he quit claimed the house to her and filed bankruptcy and he put the house on the bankruptcy. How long does it take before they file for foreclosure will it actually happen. do they just kick you out? Do thye give you time to move? I have no idea about any of this. Please help

Hi there. Sorry about your difficulties. The creditor is not bound by the divorce decree. In other words, yes your husband may be on the hook. This is especially true if the quit claim deed was not properly filed. You need a lawyer -- no doubt. You might want to go to the WLD main site and contact them for help. Hope it works out! AJJ
