Question deeds and Newfoundland law

[Newfoundland] I am in possession of an original deed that conveys the land (and everything on it) at a particular civic address. Since then, the property has changed owners (at least once). According to what I know about Newfoundland law, all older deeds are supposed to be transferred to the new owner upon sale.
Does being in possession of this deed (1954) give me any right to the property (Does this cloud the current title?)? I also have the older deeds that pertain to this property -- 1897, 1907, and 1948.

Default Re: deeds and Newfoundland law

It could yes if they did not file something as required...have a title search done and confirm the status.
