THE PROPERTY NEXT TO ME HAS BEEN ABANDONED FOR AT LEAST 10 YEARS OR MORE. I HAVE TRIED TO BUY THE PLACE BUT WAS TOLD BY AN HEIR THAT THE PROPERTY OWNER DID NOT HAVE A WILL AND THE HEIRS ARE SCATTERED ACROSS THE COUNTRY. DUE TO DEATHS AND REMARRIAGES THE PROPERTY LEFT UNATTENDED FOR MANY YEARS. I WOULD LIKE TO FILE AN ABANDONED PROPERTY CLAIM. WHERE OR HOW DO I GET STARTED?

You can ask the city or county to check the status and it may be that a tax sale or other situation could occur.
