We have purchased property last year knowing there was town encroachment on back alley but had no idea they would do anything like build a dike.
We have received letter to remove fence and shed by Jul 1. The shed is only partially, more than 3/4 , on the town's property but has been there for over 60- 70 yrs with a cement floor. Wonder if we have any right with regard with the shed? Grandfather clause or do we just take it down with no compensation or rights? Would so appreciate any feedback. |

You may have acquired the interest by adverse possession.
You could ask a local lawyer to give you an opinion. Or ask the city to recognize the ownership...they may compromise. |
