Confused Un-Married Deed Rights

We were never married. Both are on the Deed but only I am on the mortgage. Only I paid mortgage as she was FT student and unemployed. 5 years past and now she moved out. She is suing me for 1/2 of what the house is worth.

If she hasn't contributed, can she do that?

Default Re: Un-Married Deed Rights

One lawyer said: Tell her to get lost, no pay-no gain. Cost 5K to get her off the deed though.

2nd Lawyer: You're screwed. The money you spent is considered a "Gift". Beg out if you can, or pay out. NY case law goes both ways, she said. All up to the Judges.
