Default Online Purchases

I found tickets to a sporting event on a ticket brokers website and purchased the tickets. Within in minutes I receied a cofirmation email informing me of my confirmation ID # and a breakdown of what I purchases also letting me know the my credit card would be billed for this certain amount. The next day i received a email from the company saying that the price on their website was a error and that I was not going to get the tickets. Although there was a legit tranaction can they back out like that? Do I have the righ to go after them? They had a product & at a price, I gave them all my credit card info and received a receipt. It sounds like a deal they have to honor.

Default Re: Online Purchases

Most likely no, and the reason is their terms of service. Almost any online ticket broker has a terms of service (did you have to click a box that says "I read and agree to the terms of service"?) that states that they are allowed to cancel the transaction for any reason at any time.

Check the site itself for their terms of service - if they have none, you *might* have a case, although as long as you weren't actually charged (or if you were, you got all of your money back) you most likely won't get very far in any disputes. If they kept any of your money, of course, then you need to pursue it for sure.
