Default Ruined My Girlfriend's Birthday

on 10/27/07 I purchased a women's handbag from an e-bay seller who's add
stated that it was an authentic Louis Vuitton Multicolore Speedy 30 Handbag
with a minor blemish on the inside lining (which I figured was the reason
for the discounted price of the handbag).

Upon receiving the bag (this was the birthday gift I purchased for my
girlfriend)I realized that it did not include the key as pictured in the
auction. My girlfriend took the handbag to our local Louis Vuitton store
where they informed her it was a cheap fake (showing her the differences
with the real handbag she placed next to it). I immediately informed the
seller (who's contact information I have) of this disturbing news and
requested a refund in return for the fake Louis Vuitton handbag she sent me.
Her response to me was that she indeed sent me an original and "how do I
know that you din;t switch it for a fake". The exact tear that was pictured
in her ebay auction pictures is on this handbag for identification purposes.

After many attempts to resolve this in a rational manner - I have been met
with nothing but rudeness and denial from this person (who now has taken my
money and left me with a useless fake copy). The transaction was completed
through PayPal who informed me that they cannot assist in this manner
because the merchandise was actually received and that is the only issue
they could have resolved.

Can you please help me recover my payment from this very dishonest person?

Thank you
