Default Gold plated jewelry (cheated by an online shopping company)

The advantages of shopping online as opposed to a physical store are that a wide gamut of styles and brands are available at a single site and one doesn't have to conduct an extensive search for the design and brand of their choice. Enhanced variety and enticing prices are the major highlight of online marts. Guarantee certificates, lifespan warranty and long grace period to return the jewelry if unhappy about the product comprise the salient features of these online marts.

Nice spam. However, should one find their 18-carat jewelry is gold plated and not genuine 18 carat gold, they will have a lot of difficulty getting refund or seeking redress against the seller.

A lot of phony gems and bogus gold are sold online. Buyer beware! Especially when dealing with out of the country sellers.

If you have cheated by an online shopping company there will be remedy. First step is to gather all electronic transmissions and/or documentation between you and the seller. Contact, your credit card company, your bank or whichever entity you utilized to purchase the product. Be sure to get and keep a copy of the statement that shows the transaction. Get as much information as the advertiser is willing to provide regarding the seller for your records. Continue to contact the seller via email. Continue to document any contact made or received. Call your local law enforcement agency and the law enforcement agency overseeing the area of the seller and file a report. File a claim against the person or company behind the Internet scam. Do this with your state attorney general's office. You should also hire an attorney to file a civil lawsuit against the Internet scam person or company.

And if one buys locally, they can save all the time and trouble detailed in the previous post. Also, if they are really astute, they can test the jewelry before they buy it. There are relatively inexpensive test kits available to test gold. Now that it's in the neighborhood of $1600 an ounce, one would be wise to do so if they are making a major purchase. Or buy conditional upon an appraisal.

So many gemstones are manufactured now and yet pawned off as naturally mined stones. There is little chance of getting their money back from an overseas bicycle shop in Hong Kong who is selling this fake stuff.
