Default I hate eBay - Feedback on eBay

I got so fed up with eBay and PayPal, having been cheated both as a buyer and as a seller, after years of paying and earning money for eBay, having been afflicted by feedback blackmail, having had false PayPal scam claims made against me, I finally, no matter how wise I had become to try and avoid such issues, decided to give eBay up as a bad joke.

My buddy is in EXACTLY the same boat; he decided to launch his own fraud free auction site to get back at eBay, www.vbid.me (V Bid Me); he does not charge sellers listing fees or commissions for basic / regular listings, which is nice. But me, I think I have decided to go for legal action against eBay and PayPal.

I want to share some info and advice with others, to help them I hope.

eBay purchases - When you want to buy something, bid and win and then ask the seller for verification of their details if you can not verify for sure who they are, like get a copy of their driver's license or the top of a utility bill. After you buy / win an item use the eBay "request seller details" feature; if you do a Google search on the name address, etc. you get and find nothing supportive, do not be afraid to ask for proof they are who they say they are. If you know who the seller is, you can threaten them with legal action if there is a problem and eBay will not help (which they won't).

eBay feedback - Got a problem with a buyer or seller - too late or can not leave feedback on eBay / eBay remove your feedback? Find an eBay user warning site and leave feedback for them there; just look at what Google shows for certain eBay users names (search for the likes of "leonmad", "majabali" and "history_relics")

I hope this helps. As I said, I am going to sue eBay and PayPal. If anyone wants to chat about this, let me know.

The problem is that ebay belongs to paypal (or the other way round) and it's understandable that they intend to push their own payment method....The only downside I see to the system is the fees, and also sometimes it's very hard to judge on conflicts, with very limited detail.

Angry re: I hate eBay - Feedback on eBay

Totally uncontactable unless you fit in to the few groups they offer you in their menus.
I bid and won an item. I went to the item page to pay via Paypal.
There was a message covering the whole page to say basically that the sellers had been thrown off ebay and my winning bid was void. I contacted the sellers to see if they wanted to proceed with the sale outside ebay and they did not reply.
Several days later I got a message from ebay to say that an unpaid item file had been opened on me and I had 4 days to pay.
There was no way I could tell them what happened as it wasn't covered in their menus.
I eventually paid and to add insult to injury, although I live in France I wanted it sent to a UK address which I posted, I had to pay an extra £3 because Paypal (an ebay subsiduary) insisted I did and there was no way to inform them of their mistake.
I hate them both but when it is all going well, like everyone else, I love them

Greetings all,

My name is April. I am knottybynature-ny, "no longer a registered user" on eBay. Due to the fact that I had the nerve to state my opinion openly, as guaranteed by the American Free Speech Amendment, I was first censored, then suspended from their site.

Many of us are more than frustrated with the blatantly buyer-skewed feedback system, the FB extortion or manipulation that goes on ignored; continuous removal of posts-what only eBay feels to be 'a serious threat to the security of the site'. What they removed of mine, were nothing more than a list of policy changes I had come up with on the FB, along with a request to sellers to contact Chris Cuomo at the US 20/20 show. I strongly believe that there are unfair and possibly unethical business practices on eBay. My goal is to get the media attention we need to have eBay investigated and stopped. Since theirs is an online venue, and spans the globe, I am bringing my story to you. I hope you too have the courage to stand up against discriminatory treatment by a large company.

I hope you will visit the following US forum where I am encouraging all sellers to not only contact 20/20, but your local paper or major metro with letters & links on how others can participate. Please, pass it on to everyone you know. I'm sure there are many former eBayers who are not on this forum but would like to know.

I am a firm believer that if we work together, we can change eBay back to the fun venue it used to be. Please see me on Power Sellers Unite:

Just a note-I will only be posting on the PSU site as I do have a life outside of this LOL. Thanks for your support.

I heard it all when it comes to eBay but not many of you are will to take the chance on another venue. I've created a site that I believe is a least worth looking at. I have free listing, live chat, no more then 3% end of auction fees. No credit card needed for registration or before selling. This site is very versatile for both buyer and seller. We are added some more features which should be completed by month's end.

eBay won't be taken down until we heavily start support another viable auction site. Please goto MVPTraders (www.mvptraders.com) You really won't get a feel of what this site has to offer until you register and browse the seller features.

I hope you enjoy it you can send you feedback here or directly on the site. Thanks for your support.

Default Re: I hate eBay - Feedback on eBay

I recently posted some old coins and watches I have had in a safe for 25 years on Ebay. My daughters are grown have families and no appriciation for these things given to me by my grandfather. I thought? Sell them and the person who buys them will cherish them because they bought them. I sold 100 yr old penney's for .99 cents and paid $2.50 in frieght to get them to the buyer.. What F45king idiot I was.

E-bay is full of bottom feeding classless dirt balls who use the sellers score as a form of charachter assasination and extortion..That doesn't include the extortion imposed by ebay and paypal... I sent someone a watch,,they disassembled took the parts they wanted then sent it back and told me I screwed them!!!! A 100 year old railroad watch.. What does e-bay do ??? they support the cheat because without buyers ( and they do not care ) they cannot charge the fee's !!!!

I have a passion now...I tell everyone I have ever known to stay away from E-Screw.. And Pay-Scam. To think the founder of this hustle wanted to be Governor of California...At least Arnold knows he is acting.Meg Whitman...you and your corp. takeover chums are scum of the earth. You should be in NC with Bernie Madoff and Jeff Skilling. Die E-bay Die !!!!! go away and die like the chea pet...

I also have the same problem, they remove my item, flag me, When I asked what about the other people that have the same item listed. Their response was for me to report them because they cannot find everyone, yeah right! I'm not going to report (rat on) other people. My item was taken off, others had the same item listed, one sold for $220. another for $83. dollars, and I get nothing Oh no wait! I was flagged, so I will proabably be knocked off ebay. How do we sue?

Default Re: I hate eBay - Feedback on eBay

I have had numerous problems with ebay and paypal but the two main ones I will share with you. I sold a lot of purses (Coach purses) on ebay. It was 6,7 or 8 bags can't remember the exact amount. I had like 50 photos of all the bags, inside & out, close-ups, etc. The girl got the bags and said ONE of them was fake and she wanted half of her money back. Half of her money back because she thought one bag was fake? I told her no, she opened a dispute and of course won. She was to ship the items back to me and then I would refund. She shiped the items to the wrong address, wrong state and city at that. I never got them and ebay refunded her with my Paypal Account money, then my account went into the neggatives and so did my bank account. It was a huge mess! I never got the return either. Ebay said because it showed delivered she got the return even though it went to Lord knows who in some state accross the U.S.!!! Second story is actually currently happening. I sold a jacket that i had recently bought on ebay but realized it's too hott in Houston, TX to wear it. So I decided to repost on ebay as a jacket new with out tags (just as i had bought it recently). I sold it, the woman got it and said it was "dirty" (which I don't think it was but whatever). Ebay of course went with her on the dispute. They again refunded her but since I had closed my paypal account (because I planned on closing my ebay prior to this dispute being opened) they couldn't pull the money from my paypal. I sitll have not received the return package and it came to Houston, then went back to dallas about 3 weeks ago now - so the package is lost. I keep getting emails from ebay telling me to pay or they are going to send me to a collection agency. I don't really care i'm not going to pay - i mean DUH i havn't recived my return yet. I want to sue they - they are a bunch of idiots there. Also what makes it worse is I try to fix the problem and ebay live chat is 58+ minutes to wait in line - this is ridiculous!
