I am president of a motorcycle riding club. We are registered with the State as a legally recognized "entity" but we are NOT a registered non-profit. We have five officers in the club. We do not carry any D & O insurance.
We are planning a fund raising event / party. The event is to be held in a bar. We are charging admission to the party, we are NOT serving alcohol. Any alcohol consummed will be purchased from the bar by the individual. Do we have any liability for an injury which could occur at the event itself, in the bar or parking lot? Do we have any liability for any alcohol related accident and/or injury that could occur later on the road if someone has too much to drink? Last edited by ejmoment : 11-30-2006 at 09:45 AM. |

You could--get the bar and its insurance to assume all responsibility as they do for normal customers. They should be willing to agree in writing.
