Smile CEO

We operate a non-profit 501C3 private school in Georgia. Can it purchase property in Tallahassee for investment purposes? We plan to sell it and then build more schools. Will I need to register the corporation in Florida? I am assuming the 501 C3 is recognized nationwide since it is issued federally.
In advance, thank you for you help.

Default Re: CEO

You should have legal counsel review your documents and purposes etc.

You cannot stray to far from your nonprofit goals and in some cases purely commercial or investment type activity can cause you to run afoul of your tax exempt status.

So have counsel approve it with you.
