I am the president of our local non profit corporation "club". I received a request for information under the freedom of information act. The question is what do i need to give, should i give information. If i provided them to view am i obligated to make copies for them. The club in non profit in the state of michigan. It received money from the state to groom snowmobile trails.

Well in California if you receive state funds to do a project that means you become a public entity and all documents that pertain to that project are public. Under FOIA the same rules will apply, as the public we have the right to know where our tax dollars are going and how they are spent.
Most records are public except for medical records and records that pertain to an ongoing investigation and some others. Y |
