Hello there, I am posting this message here on the behalf of Texas Adjudication Outreach (TAO) which is a registered Non-Profit Organization with both the State of Texas and the United States Federal Government.
With that said, I would like to state that we are looking for any lawyers / attorneys who are experienced and well versed with Non-Profit Organizational Laws as well as Texas Criminal Justice laws especially pertaining to Deferred Adjudication and Non-Disclosure. Any attorneys interested in learning more about our cause or interested in working with us would be doing so on a Pro-Bono basis. We have been petitioning, meeting with State Congressmen / Congresswomen and Senators, and making appearances before various committees in the Texas capitol building and has been a cause we have been ushering since 1999. For more information about our organization please feel free to visit some of the following websites : http://www.tajlr.com http://www.deferredadjudication.org http://www.myspace.com/austintajlr If you would like to contact us via e-mail to learn more, you may do so by contacting the Founder of Texas Adjudication Outreach at the following e-mail address : robs [at] dallas.net or you can reach me at viceroy [at] deferredadjudication.org . We have Chapters in the following area's primarily : Dallas, Austin, and Houston . Thank you and we look forward to hopefully hearing from some interested lawyers / attorneys! ![]() P.S. - I will be inviting some of our members to come here and post here as well. |

Not a problem, just so you know, we have been going before State Legislators and committees here in Texas every legislative session since 1999 and so we have been around for quite a long time however did not formally declare ourselves an organization on paper till 2007. Anyhow, please feel free to contact any of us as there are over 2 million Texans with Deferred Adjudication.

Initially, to get the State of Texas to honor their agreement with people who have been affected by Deferred Adjudication. Everyone we are representing and fighting for are people who have completed Deferred Adjudication for the most part.
To find out exactly what basis we are arguing our case on, is as seen here on this page : http://www.deferredadjudication.org/...ed_def_new.htm To see opinions given by Supreme Court Judges please refer to : http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...ogID=279320688 At the same time while arguing our case before legislators, we have various State Legislators trying to pass bills into law in which would further punish those who have ever taken Deferred Adjudication. If you would love to have someone higher up in our organization speak with you, provide me with a name and phone # in which you can be reached at and we would be more then glad to contact you. Thanks!

In recent legislative sessions we have managed to get bills passed into the Senate in which passed in which allowed for certain criminal offenses to become eligible for Non-Disclosure however this has been a totally flawed law with many ways around it for prospective employees.
Also alot of prospective employees have been and are denying people who have ever accepted or taken Deferred Adjudication. Also when you get an order of Non-Disclosure its not the burden of the State of Texas to contact the background companies to remove your records from their database but instead the burden of the individual who has Non-Disclosure in hand. Do you have any idea how many companies a person must contact in order to get this done through out the entire United States? Non-Disclosure still allows some organizations to view a person's Non-Disclosed / sealed records which is a loop hole in itself.

Here are some example bills from last legislative session in which some of our State Representatives tried to get passed into law in which we testified against.
We even are on record as testifying out against these bills in committee. Furthermore, we have even gone to some committees in large number and have been asked to keep things real brief in our testimonials because there was so many of us present who wanted to give our testimonies. I will see if I can dig up video links. http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...ogID=278559644 http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...ogID=278561053

Here is a recording of where some of our members talk about Deferred Adjudication in Texas on a radio station in Houston :
http://archive.kpft.org/mp3/071012_210001prison.MP3 (looks like this is no longer available in their Archives) The part in this recording about Deferred Adjudication is at the 24:20 mark up till the 40:55 mark. I hope this is of some help to you guys. For those of you who are unaware of what KPFT is, it is a FM radio station in Houston in which you can tune into at KPFT 90.1 FM . The show in the discussion about Deferred Adjudication was airred on is known as "The Prison Show" in which is hosted by Ray Hill as seen at : http://www.rayhill.info/ .
