Our non profit property owners association may need to sell our lakefront
clubhouse for lack of use/interest. Generally we use it only a few times a year by less than 1/3 of the the property owners. Specifically how can we distribute the assests which have appreciated over the years. Can we use the cash generated from the sale to offset members contributions to road improvments? I would hope to deposit the funds in an account and use the interest to lessen road assessments or possibly association yearly dues. Can you advise and provide direction? Many Thanks Bruce Trustee |

It can become a part of your working capital proceeds. You normally would not want to distribute it without having tax and legal counsel review and advise as to structure. You have fairly strict limitations as a non-profit.
