Default Crazy neighbor - Massachusetts

Massachusetts

We have a neighbor that is driving us crazy. My wife and I put an addition on a house that was given to us by my parents it was the house that I grew up in until I got married at 24. As soon as we started the construction he started his harassment. Continually going to the town hall and complaining, to the point that they told him to stop coming in and that we were doing everything properly. To add to the problem he is a belligerent drunk and gets brave when he's drinking we have had numerous run ins with this drunk. It has been 6 years of off and on harassment. The latest problem occurred yesterday with him screaming at the end of our driveway calling me a PUNK (I am 48 years old and he is 5 i mean 50) and calling me on to fight. at this point my wife tried to talk some sense into him (like that's gonna happen) and I went into the house and called the police. It appeared he was arguing that my son did something to his daughters car the night before and there were 5 kids stalking her from our window . My son is 21 years old and has NO history with his loser daughter, we were not even home that night. There was no one in the window.

When I called the police dispatch they proceeded to tell me he called last night and they wrote it off as he was paranoid (they know him from previous domestic and Drunken driving offenses).

When the police arrived we tried to explain about his issue with the daughters car and what had happened. They listened and the went over to talk to him . He didnt even mention the car he complained about broken pickets on HIS 30 year old wooden fence and how I cut trees that were over the fence (he cut the trees himself ). I could go on forever but my question is how can I get legal NO Trespass order against him . The police officer suggested it to us while they were here but I was so shaken I didn't ask how. Unless someone has a better remedy!!

You can file in your local civil court. They normally have forms for such kinds of action. Call the clerk and ask for a form requesting a no trespass order and/or restraining order, no-contact order--whatever they call it at that court.

You will then go in front of a judge after a number of days and he may very well approve it if you are being unnecessarily harassed.
