My new neighbor wants to add 4 feet on top of an existing 1.5foot garden wall along our property line in my front yard running along a driveway. He wants to add a iron fence on top to close off to a automatic gate he is installing. I do not wish the modifications. What rights do I have? He is the arrogant type that does what he wants to no regards of others.

Is that a common wall? Or, does your neighbor own it??
Is putting a fence over and above the 1.5 garden wall within the reglations?? How does the rising of the wall affect you? I mean does that affect you light, air or privacy?? Just not liking something isn't a good reason for protest unless it tresspasses on your rights |

I believe it will adversely affect my property value by changing the look of my front yard. This is a development with a theme. It would become inconsistent with the rest of the yards in the neighborhood. Also there is a HOA which I found out he has not gotten approvals from the architectural committee. for this change. |

Primarily, you seem to have three objections
1.'it will adversely affect my property value by changing the look of my front yard. 2 ' Also there is a HOA which I found out he has not gotten approvals from the architectural committee. for this change.' 3. 'It would become inconsistent with the rest of the yards in the neighborhood.' The solution is 1. Either to ignore if you just ''feel' that way inorder to keep good or neutral relationship with your neighbor 2. Why arn't the watch dogs of the Vigilance & Security Deptt of the Regularity Authority taking a notice of this? You can approach the concerned deptt with your complaint, by telephoning or writing them a few lines. Installing anything over and above the approved plan beyond regulations is illegal everywhere,,,you can resolve the matter through a simple complaint to the authorities concerned. |
