Default Cond/Perm???

I have received conditional green card, and now awaiting for a permanent one. But the circumstances are that I want to finish my education outside the US, which may result in frequent long visits another country. Does anybody know how much time is allowed to be out of US, so I wont lose my chance to get a permanent card?

Please, if anybody had this problem or know smth about it, answer me!
