Default Am I qualified to apply for naturalization? (green card, re-entry visas)

From NY:

Hello! I'm a green card holder since 1996 when i was petitioned by my mom(US Citizen) and came here that year when i was 15 yrs old. I wasn't able to reside here in the US permanently because i'm still studying back then in Philippines and got (3 re-entry visas) 2 yrs.(2 of these) and 3 yr.(1) re-entry visas with the recent one expired when i graduated from college in april 2006 in which i was able to come back here before it's expiration.(This was also the time when i renewed my green card -2006)

I stayed here since then, just going back to visit my wife and kid without going over 6 months of stay there. Now it's April 2010 and it's 4 yrs of stay here. I read from the uscis website that you need 5 yrs of continuous residency to be qualified for naturalization. With that in mind, i would like to add that my brother applied for his citizenship with just more than 3 yrs and 9 months of continuous residency that was accepted and he's already a US citizen now.

My questions are:

1. Am i qualified to apply?
2. Do re-entry visas break the continuous residency line?

Thanks,
Ein

I wish to inform you that for Citizenship through naturalization there is requirement of 5 year of permanent resident. In this holder of Green Card is called a permanent resident. As you are having Green Card from 1996 therefore you are a permanent resident from 1996.
