Expeditious naturalization via grandparent?
Hi all,
I wonder if you can help me. My husband and I have recently been looking into moving to the US as he has been offered several jobs out there.
I have read briefly of expeditious naturalization via grandparents and wondered if by any chance this would apply to me?
My grandmother (who is actually my step-grandmother, she married my grandfather when I was 2 years old, which I assume will make a difference) was a US citizen when she married my grandfather. He was British but obtained a green card via her, although never got citizenship as they never lived there (she moved over to the UK to be with him, they then used to go to US for a few months each year). My grandfather died 7 years ago and his son (my father) has never got any kind of citizenship or greencard.
I am assuming that this means absolutely nothing due to the US citizen being a step-grandmother rather than blood relative, and due to my grandfather being deceased and only a green card holder anyway, but I just wanted to check to satisfy my curiosity!
Many thanks for any help/advice you can give.
