Question War Baby Citizenship

I was born in 1944 my mother was English & my Father a us army Sargent
after a long search i found him in south carolina
We formed a great relationship and understanding with each other over a short period of time.We had a DNA Test done and it came back at 99.9% positive. After which time he made me power of attorney over his estate. . His last wish before he died was that i get my US Citizenship ,
I have been told that i am already a US Citizen by birth,is this correct.
If not where do i go from hear.

Citizenship

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. - XIV Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

Citizenship is one of the most coveted gifts that the U.S. government can bestow, and the most important immigration benefit that USCIS can grant. Most people become U.S. citizens in one of two ways:
  • By birth, either within the territory of the United States or to U.S. citizen parents, or
  • By Naturalization.

In addition, in 2000, Congress passed the Child Citizenship Act (CCA), which allows any child under the age of 18 who is adopted by a U.S. citizen and immigrates to the United States to acquire immediate citizenship.

Go to USCIS for Naturalization and Citizenship. If your father acknowledge you and DNA and you
obtain a Birth Certificate carrying his name as a father, then you should be eligible to become an
US Citizen by birth of the father.
However, in some cases of the Vietnamese Children during war time, the USCIS does not acknowledge
their child birth from the US Servicemen as US Citizen automatically, which is not fair..
They instead have "Amerasian Home Coming Act" for these children to go to their fathers' land, but
not to be automatically become naturalized citizens.
You must apply under CIS with the Form N-400 Application to fill out and wait for the Examination.
