My girlfriend is originally from Belarus. She came to the U.S. in 2005. Her
Green card or \'Permanent Resident Card\' says Resident since Feb. 2007. It expires in Feb. 2009. Our first question is whether or not this is what is known as a \"conditional green card?\" To complicate matters, she is currently married but separated (not with me). Her divorce will be final in 2 months. How will that affect her legal status when her card expires and what can we do to ensure she stays in this country? Thank you, W. Lange |

It sounds that it is a "conditional green card". Since she got it through her soon to be ex. It can give a hard time to have it lifted . It all has to do with why she had a divorce. It is hard to say. I think she has to ask a real immigration laywer. Or if you 2 plan to get married that could help her. |
