Hello!! Everyone forgot about coming here on a temp work Visa etc., and then kncoking up some really stupid girl - marrying her. The he will become an auto US citizen. Lets not forget anout the anchor babies. Come here illegaly pregnant and your baby is auto US citizen and it is really hard to deport the parents back to their soil.
Look at ALL the mexicans who cant speak a work of the english language - they'd need to speak the language well to get citizenship - they are either illegal or marrid someone for their green card and, like most mexicans- are popping out kids like candy to stay in this country. MAKES ME SICK. And under Obama's health care plan- these illegals get FREE HEALTH INS YOUR TAXES ARE PAYING FOR! They ca get drivers lic. too. AGAIN- MAKES ME SICK* |

Good lord, you really are ignorant! Get your facts straight before spouting off like that! Any baby born inside the US is in fact a US citizen, but there is no problem in deporting illegal parents - the US has been doing it for decades! The baby can come back here whenever s/he wants and will enjoy full citizenship benefits (because that's our Constitution!!) but the parents have no right to stay and are not given any sort of preference against deportation. They can choose whether to take the baby back home or leave it with relatives in the US - it's actually rather cruel, but probably something you'd like.
I think it's been made pretty clear that our national health insurance would not be available to the undocumented. Finally, you have to be kidding about drivers' licenses! So what?? You can't get your car insured without a license. Do you REALLY want to be in an accident with an illegal immigrant who couldn't insure his car because he couldn't get a license??? You have to be joking on that one. And yes -- I am an immigration lawyer. |

First the to immigration lawyer, it was refreshing to read a educated responds. Your comment was to the point and loaded with FACTS. I want to laugh at the comments from the people who open their mouth and let their IQ hang out. But the ignorants of some are just to sad to unload on them.
I have a relative that married out of the country and his wife waited for her visa. She is a wonderful person and an asset to the US and our family. She waited for her visa in the comfort of her parents home. The process was about a year and everyone one was straight forward with us. However another relative is involved with someone that we(and she) just found out was illigal to the US. He is a wonderful person and our family is proud to have him in our lives. Not all people have the acsess to the steps to come here. Some countries you have to pay off everyone(that how it's done, wide spread) and you pay and pay. Most of the time they just want to make money to support their families. Sure some people do illegal stuff, but most are just trying to help there families. Makes you wonder if I'm talking about the illigal's or the American's! Most illegals work hard for little pay, doing jobs no one else wants and cann't collect unemployment, it's like they want their cake and eat it too. We are lucky to live in the country we do and the law on our side. Clear cut step to almost any process. Damm those people that want it as good as we have it. Who do they think they are? I'm not sure the answer to the imigration problems, maybe we should check the good book for how to treat one another during the process. |

Judging by the amount of responses, I think it's safe to say that many people are vexed by this question (and rightfully so--it means a lot to a great number of people). It's nearly impossible to keep up with everything that goes on in the realm of immigration law (I know, trust me), but I have information for New Yorkers that can ease the strain.
It's a firm called Thaker Law, and I have had nothing but good experiences with them when it comes to addressing present immigration issues. They offer a great deal in terms of deportation help and data about current immigration laws. Their site at www.thakerlaw.com can give you a rundown of a lot of this stuff. Getting the right information is important, but staying on top of it is even more so. Hope this helps. |
