Unhappy title company changes tax after I signed

Hi,

I just re-financed our home. We cashed out some money to pay off debt. We signed our paperwork and a few days later received a new HUD statement in the mail. They changed the mortgage tax from 224.00 to over 1300.00. They claimed that there was a problem with how our mortgage recorded when we purchased the house, therefore we can not receive credits that they issued. Then they closed the loan based on the new HUD, and shorted me 1160.00 in a check that came in the mail.

I argued this with the bank and they said there is nothing they can do, that I have to sign the new HUD. Is it legal to make changes to documents after I signed them? Should I deposit the $ they sent even though I was shorted 1160? What action should I take to get them to pay the amount I signed?
Please someone answer, as I don't know what to do.

Thank you!!

No--and you may consider suing in small claims or other court.
