Confused My name is still on the title of the house I sold!

1 month before I sold my house I took out a equity line of credit on it, (I was building a new house)When my new house was finished, 9months later, I got a morgage and the bank PAID OFF the equity line of credit from the house I sold. Well 6 months later I used the equity line again not knowing it was still on the house I sold. The bank never closed the account or changed the equity line to my new address. last month, 4years later I went to the bank to refinance or consolidate and found out my name is still on the title of the old house, and the bank won't fix this because they say the amount of my equity and mortgage is over 100% of the value of my home. They have given me the run around and the title company keeps wondering what's up. The people that bought my home paid cash so they don't even know about this problem. Where do I start, to fix this.HELP!

Eventually you will be required to pay back what you borrowed. But if you did not own the house they may not have secured it properly and it may be an unsecured loan. Or maybe there is a lien on the home and nobody checked--in that case you are going to have to work out a solution that protects the innocent buyer or face possible litigation.
