My husband entered into a contract to purchase our home prior to our
marriage. On the purchase agreement is his former girlfriend of 9 days. The contract states Betty *** or Bill *****. Betty was only in this home for about 9 days and has never made any contribution to this house. We are trying to finance the balloon payment, but are getting refused because of the community property law. The time period for the balloon payment has passed and we face losing our home unless we can gain financing for the balloon payment. Since Bill and Betty were never married and the contract states \"or\" is our home community property. We have tried for months to locate Betty, but have had no success. We don\'t know what to do next. Last edited by Granny Franny D; Jul 26th, 2008 at 11:15 AM. |
