I need advice...

Hello,

I am living here in Germany and have recently started to promote Ebay affiliate web sites. So you have a niche and people can buy through your site on Ebay and you get a percentage.(i.e. beatles records etc.)

So I decided to sell used XXXXX company gear on Ebay through my site. I used a XXXXX company logo on the site and in the website name. It was obvious that it was an Ebay store and I put a disclaimer at the bottom that it was in no way affiliated with the company and even put a link to the real XXXXX company website.

I have only been doing it for 1 month and have earned € 1.96 so far.

Today I got a registered letter from a lawyer saying that I have to pay €5500 damages and €2000 for the letter and sign a letter to say I am guilty.

I immediately shut down the site and phoned the lawyer.

I have been doing SEO as a hobby for the last 4 years and my store was positioned above some of the XXXXX company stores on Google.

Am I Screwed? I have very little money and a kid to feed.

I am not a scammer and in fact all my other stores which are generic and don't use brand names (i.e. wooden toys) have done better than this XXXXX website.


What can I do?

I didn't get any warning letters and they want and answer in 2 days...is that legal?
