Default sour used car purchase

Live in Nevada, purchased use car (drove and looked ok) asked why air bag light on, said was a short, signed off Nv blue title, took to DMV and was told had a salvage title issued in Indiana 60 days before this Nv title, cannot register 'til NV certified mechanic inspects ($100+), took to dealership to check light and they said auto has been in a MAJOR accident and main air bag control not replaced!!(another $900+ to repair, + another $1000+ repairs from accident internally). According to NV status, selling a salvaged vechicle w/o written notice to purchaser is a felony. How do we prove seller had or knew of salvaged title? Why dosen't his say re-built, which is the only title to be issued once a salvaged title is no longer issued? Do we have any recourse?? We have not signed the title as buyers yet.

Default Re: sour used car purchase

Go to or call Indiana Title licensing and see who had issued the title or brought in the title? If you are still unable to find the person go to www.carfax.com. That will tell you when and who did the rebuilt title. It cost about$25.00-$30.00 to do a complete carfax check. Not all states issue titles as rebuilt.... Varies by state. You should have recourse if you have not signed the title. Getting any money back you may have to go to small claims court for that.....Good luck..
