Default Are Insurers actions criminal extortion

We are currently in dispute with our insurance company in relation to
a claim for damages caused by cyclone Larry nearly 2 years ago.

The insurer organised quotes for some of the repairs to our house which came to $245,000.00 approx.

The insurer is refusing to pay this money, that they acknowledge they owe us, unless we settle another dipute with them.

We believe we are being blackmailed, or similarly having an action extorted
from us on the basis that they will not pay us what they acknowledge they
owe us unless we perform this other action against our will.

Is this extortion or blackmail under Australian or Queensland Law?

Contact your insurance licensing Board and / or insurance counsel.

They normally are not allowed to do that with unrelated claims.
