Since I couldn't get an answer the first time, I'm trying again. I would like to know how my ex-girlfriend died. Is there any way for me to get a copy of her death certificate, and if so, how? What information, if any, is the police obligated to provide?

A lawyer can subpoena any of those documents for you. The death certificate should also be available under an open records act request.

Thank you for the response. Can you tell me what information I should have ready to provide to the attorney? Do you know what an attorney would charge for this?
