Confused Rings

My sister passed away about almost 2 years ago. In June of last year, her
husband handed me our mother\'s rings. Now, I get a phone saying that he
wants to follow his wife\'s wishes and give the rings to their son.

Do I, by law, have to give these rings back? I'm not sure if there is a will or not.

Not really. He gave them to you and you have them now.

Unless he has some binding legal reason and/or there was a clear error, you can keep them.
