Default Very Confused about disability

I am a mother that is perm. disabled, and so is my daughter. We get SSi, and Social Security for me, I am wanting to get married, but I do not want our total family income to be less than what he is bringing in now[ or close to it- the total amount] My 5 y/o gets $672 plus medicaid, and I get some on the 1st and some on the 3rd [medicare]
Say he applies, and we are not living together yet, but when he dose live w/ me, and gets approved for being Perm. disabled, then how does that work? he got a letter stating that if he was to become disabled for this past year he would probably recieve $802?
BTW We live in Texas.

You might want to explain your situation in a little more detail if you want to get a serious answer to your question. You have stated that you and your daughter are both permanently disabled and are already receiving government assistance and income. You now want to marry someone who is getting income from a non-government source (I assume he works), but you want to apply for him to also be qualified as permanently disabled and receive additional government income.

I am not making any accusations and you may have a viable situation, but from the way you wrote this, it has the appearance that you are trying to figure out a way for a family to get a free ride from the government. Again, not accusing in any way, but just letting you know how it appears without any other details.

You may want to meet with your local SS staff and have them outline how your benefits will increase or lower under given incomes. Then you can decide to marry or not.
