I attended a school in New York five years ago and I did not complete
it. I paid out of pocket (did not receive any loans or financial aid), and I paid as I went. I had a balance when I left. However, I moved out of State and the credits that I had taken thus far were non-transferable and I had to start all over. I will not be getting any form of certification, neither will I be returning to the school to complete the course. I started getting these letters from a collection agency about 2-3years ago to collect the balance. I am paying it but find it rather absurd that I have to pay for something that I will not be using and that will be of no benefit to me. I contacted the school bursar and the only response that she could give me was you attended the classes whether you\'re going to use it or not you still have to pay. Do I really have to pay? |

Well it is true that you normally would pay.
...but if you can argue they misled you or the education and credits were defective or something like that, you could dispute payment. |
