Unhappy Car theft by Deception

My son bought a car over a year ago. He traded in a car at that time. The dealer never paid off the loan, on his and many other loans. The car that was traded in is gone. The dealer was arrested on multiple counts. He has also declared bankruptcy. My son has been continuing to pay on the loan on a car that was stolen by deception, to protect his credit. His car insurance did not cover this situation, claiming it was theft by deception. The police claim they can do nothing at this time because it is an on going investigation. He has found no legal precedent and no legal help...He cannot continue to keep paying-what can he do? He has all specific paper work. Has anyone faced a similar issue? Does anyone know what legal alternative he has? This occurred in New Jersey. The New Jersey State Police are involved.

He should stop paying and the bank should also intervene and help pursue criminal charges--then the insurance should apply.

Email World law on their home page if you have problems getting this done.
