Angry Help with personal info rights

I checked out of a hotel at 8AM at 11:30AM I checked my messages. At 11AM the hotel called stating that a car parked under my balcony had a crack in the wind shield and that I was
going to have to pay for it. The hotel also stated that they, the hotel, had given the owner of the vehicle my information and that he is getting quotes for the windshield and he will
be in contact with me. Now I feel like I'm getting thrown under the bus here I have no idea what is going on and I was shocked when I heard this, can the hotel just give someone my info?
I have no idea who this person is, I've asked the hotel for the persons info, a police report and a hotel incident report but have not received a reply from the person that initiated the contact from the hotel.

You can certainly deny that you caused it; they would have to prove you did.

I'm not too concerned with them proving I did it, the hotel didn't even document the incident. I'm more concerned about the hotel coughing up my info without even looking at the car or even talking to me.
