evil neighbor
If I am selling my house and a person pulls over on the street to pick
a piece of paper out of the info container on the sign for the house and THEN the evil neighbor from across the street drops by and lies about our house being infested with mold, etc, is Evil Neighbor committing a crime by lying in order to stop a possible business deal? |

Any false statement given with intent to create damages etc can be actionable--you indeed could threaten to sue.
Even the threat may cause the neighbor to think first. |
