Confused Frozen Accounts Lack of Communication

Hello,

I have a banking question. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
8 months ago, 4,000 dollars was deposited into my husband's bank account. He waited 30 days and had asked about the money. He was told it was from an insurence company. However he was not told which one.

Due to some things that had happened at that time, it seemed to make sence that perhaps this money was actully for him. Still, he didn't touch it for well over a month.

So 8 months had passed, each month 100 dollars was deposited into his account. Then, a week ago, he found he couldn't use his atm card.
He went to the bank the next morning and was informed his accounts were frozen.

We had recived no phone call. No letter. No Nothing at all. Suddenly, the people needed to be spoken with about this matter, has seemed to have disapeared.

Everyday we've been to the bank. Because of this, we are on the verge of losing an apt. We cannot get food, or even gas for him to get to work.

Everyday they give us the same line. That they are trying to get a hold of this person or that. They won't even tell us the name of the insurence company. Although in all honesty, I'm not sure if they can or what good that would do.

It's not that we wish to shirk responsibility. However, I'd like to know if we have Any rights at all.

Thank you so much for your help.

Sincerely,
Angel

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior... You may also report them to your state attorney general's office. WLD attorneys might also become directly involved, email them on the home page above.
