I signed a contract for a flexible benefits plan with my school district, managed by a third party. The contract period clearly states September 1, 2007-August 2008. My son had surgery in September, but when I called to see how to file the claim I was told that my school "signed up late" and services before October 1 were not eligible for reimbursement. I had budgeted a fair amount of money ($1000) to cover surgery costs. The management company will not allow me to discontinue the program or to renegotiate the terms in light of the date error. They said that due to IRS regulations their hands were tied. My school is not supporting me. Is a contract a contract or what? I am continually getting stonewalled...
