Doing Background Checks on Others?
I am Canadian and I live in Ontario. My story is this... Last year, there was a man who wanted to date me... a man I met online. I had a bad feeling about him, so I wanted to do a background check. I found a site that allowed you to do that by paying a small fee. Turns out the guy wasn't someone I should be going out with and so I'm sure this site saved me some trouble. However, while I was there, just for curiosity sake, I did checks on several other people, including myself. Most of the names that I searched have slipped my mind, except one... a man from Albany, New York. This person found out that I ran a check on him and how he's threatening to take me to court. Does he have a basis to his threats? What about anyone from Canada that may I may have checked out? I'm really freaking out over this. PLEASE help!
