I want to stop a spammer!

I have been getting spam for MONTHS now which traces to a company
called
powerclickmarketing.com
This is going to another email addy I set up specifically because I use
it
in places I know it may be harvested. BUT I have NEVER used my real
name
for that address yet somehow this company got my first name at least.
I
have always been careful to sign up on sites with privacy policies that

state they do not share, sell etc my address. But there is no way to
know
for sure. Someone MUST have shared or how would they have my name?
I have been sending complaints through spamcop.net AND directly to
their
admins. Abuse at, hostmaster at.
NO REPLY and NO STOPPING THEM! I am FED UP! I get six or MORE every
day. Yes that seems like a minor thing but multiply that by WEEKS, MONTHS! I get PAID to read ads. This one is hyjacking my time!
It takes time to send off complaints, takes time to actually LOOK at
the
mail since it does have my name, might be someone I do know.

Been trying to read up on what if any laws there are. Not much. And
though
they do have an opt out link, I NEVER OPTED IN! Everything I read about
spam
states never click on links. It only validates the email!
They do have an address but only if I turn images on. (I only do for
people
I know.) Here though.

THEY ARE STEALING MY TIME!!!!! I doubt I can afford to sue them, but if
a
lawyer would be willing to write a letter it may be enough.

Any help or advice is welcome.
Also... I live in Michigan, they are in TN. So which law/s would
apply?

tell your ISP and their hosting company and they will often take action

you could also sue in small claims or other court possibly if you can serve them and identify who is really involved

Well for the past two days now, it has stopped.
I did a search for this company and found OTHER links that seem to use them for their ads. Started including their admins in my complaints. Also, when sending off my complaints to spamcop.net, the ftc, hostmaster@ webmaster@ admin@ etc...
I started also forwarding the complaint directly to the advirtizer they are spamming me with! HA! Take that!!!!!
And started threatening legal action on the theft of time thing. Also started saving all their junk to do just that!

I don't know which one of the above worked, but it seems to have worked!
Darn shame it takes all this. I wish law makers would make privacy the law. Not make people fight to KEEP junk out after the fact. I wish companies needed WRITTEN PERMISSION to share information. Then had to supply a list of ALL their "affiliates."

Yea well... I can wish can't I?
