If an adult becomes text based sexual with a minor and the minor's parents suggest that if they discover it the adults life may change, What should the adult do?

No adult should be send sexual text, pictures or anything to any minor. However laws vary by state so there no absolute answer. I will say if the minors parents are asking you to stop its in your best interest to stop or face possible prison term and lifetime registration as sex offender

Are you kidding me? Do you really have to ask if it's OK, as an adult, to be "sexting" with a child?

What the minor's parents are "suggesting" is that this adult will be in for a rude awakening if he'she doesn't stop this entirely inappropriate behavior IMMEDIATELY. Being woken up in the middle of the night to police banging on your door and being dragged off to jail comes to mind. Or perhaps the child's protective Uncle Bubba coming to "visit".

The question to YOU is - would you rather get out while you can, or experience one of the two responses -- or WORSE?

Seeing as how said parents are directly "We are searching the computer and you had hope we don't find anything." but nothing about if they will keep the individual posted on the status of their search or if they plan to give warning (on the hand of minor instigating. I know in eyes of law it matters not who started it.) or If found consult individual stating such, Should one prepare with a lawyer or wait it out?

Seriously? If you are expecting them to give you a "heads-up" so you can know when to expect the police for the purpose of destroying the incriminating evidence and getting a head start on your fleeing the jurisdiction, I would say that is not only insulting but a wholly unreasonable expectation.

You would know better than anyone whether or not there is anything incriminating to find. You probably SHOULD hire yourself an attorney to prepare yourself for the inevitable.

I agree with Sandyclaus. It's sounds like you're in trouble and need to get a lawyer immediately. I wouldn't contact the child at all ever again.

Get a lawyer immediately. Communicating with a minor as you indicate has criminal sanctions, will get you marked as a pedophile, possibly your home raided by the police looking for evidence of child porn...

This "adult" is in deep trouble. A criminal defense lawyer is needed and should be on speed dial.
