Default Picture posted in store (shoplifting)

My neighbor got caught shoplifting in our local grocery store. They have now posted her picture on the wall where everyone can see it. I can understand posting it in the employee's lounge so they know who to watch out for but is it legal to post it publicly?

I wish to inform you that as the picture is at a place which is within the store premises and even though it is showing correct thing, yet store may be requested to remove the photo. As the offence of theft is of a criminal nature, therefore, if police complaint has been filed and punishment or penalty ordered by the court, thereafter, if matter is not resolved with store then court may be requested to order the store to remove the photograph.

Lots of stores do this. Depending on where and how they do this your neighbor might have options. Keep in mind that it was your neighbor who made the poor choice to steal so the wrongdoing is on his/her part
